Day 3 (Part 2) - Blue Spruce

What's this you may ask! Two posts for the same day! Buy one get one free, what value I offer here :) Well I was debating whehter to bolt this on to todays blog entry but thought for those easily confused it was better for me to keep it separate. After writing my original entry for day 3 I headed to the local bar in town - blue spruce, and met some great people.

A lovely couple called the Wallingfords got talking to me and then got me beer tasting all the local brews, they actually used to own the bar. Mr. Wallingford had actually been to wallingford in oxfordshire - I was very impressed!

There was an intresting bloke in the bar called Vern who had a massive beard. He claimed he only shaved once a year on valentines day, I raised my doubts over such a claim at which point he pulled out a digital camera chronicling beard growth through the year - the finale of which was him being the local santa claus. He did actually look like quite a good santa.

The last people I chatted to in the bar were some foresters who manage the campsites in the national park. They managed to answer some of my questions whilst we watched the red wings get knocked out of the stanley cup (frank - did you get my voicemail?? Are you reading this?) Anyway for those of you who care compression braking means engine braking and trucks are banned from doing this in quite a few places!

I headed to bed after probably one beer too many. I think I only had 3 or 4 and I was a gonna!!

  1. Hey Bri!

Just catching up on your blog :-)

There have been lots of signs around in NZ and Aus about limiting the use of compression braking in built up areas so I'm glad they have the confusing signs in the States as well.

Well done on actually blogging on each day as well. Don't get behind like me and Vicki because catching up is a killer!

Good luck and I look forward to reading more updates!
